[PROBLEMS] To improve the characteristics requested for a septum into which an inserted body is inserted, particularly, the sliding property of the septum to easily insert the inserted body into the septum and also provide the septum with sufficient pressure resistance. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] This septum is characterized by comprising a through passage capable of flowing a liquid from an outer end face with a slit part toward an inner end face and a layer for improving the sliding property on the outer end face formed on the outer end face to facilitate the insertion of the inserted body into the slit part. This needle-less port comprises the septum. This method of manufacturing the septum is characterized in that at least the inner end face of the septum having the through passage capable of flowing the liquid from the outer end face with the slit part toward the inner end face is masked to form the layer to improve the sliding property of the septum for facilitating the insertion of the inserted body into the septum excluding at least the through passage and the inner end face on the outer end face by a CVD (chemical vapor deposit) method.
