<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device enabling a user to confirm the actual toner residual amount of a toner cartridge even if the accuracy of a toner residual amount detection sensor is not high or the toner residual amount detection sensor itself is not mounted. <P>SOLUTION: In the printing device 10, the toner residual amounts of the toner cartridges 21 loaded in respective K, C, M and Y cartridge loading parts 124K, 124C, 124M and 124Y are monitored. When the toner residual amount of any toner cartridge 21 is lower than a prescribed threshold, a reference image corresponding to each of the cartridge loading parts in which the toner cartridges 21 are loaded is printed on printing paper in a state where it is colored only with the toner in the toner cartridge in the loading part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
