<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with an excellent image representation capability, which is capable of vividly reproducing colors existing in nature. <P>SOLUTION: The display device performs color reproduction by additive color mixture of four primary colored light components consisting of red, green, blue, and cyan, wherein in an xy-chromaticity diagram, the coordinate of red is x≥0. 643 (y is any value), green is y≥0.606 (x is any value), blue is y≤0. 056 (x is optional), and cyan is x≤0.164 (y is any value).
