PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a water-absorbing resin, having no problem such as leakage of a liquid monomer mixture from the apparatus in polymerization, easy in controlling polymerization gelation reaction velocity, capable of easily and uniformly performing preheating in aging to complete the reaction to a predetermined reaction ratio and cooling for removing heat of polymerization gelation reaction, and easily taking out the polymer gel from the apparatus. SOLUTION: The upper surface of an endless rotating support belt 13 is covered with a belt cover 1 having a planar shape of a tapered form, the inner side thereof is sealed with an inert gas, supplied monomer mixture leakage from a supporting belt 13 is prevented by a side weir 17 set at the lower end of the belt cover 1, a liquid leakage preventive weir 16 and a backflow preventive weir 18, a polymer gel 3 obtained by polymerization gelation reaction in an inert gas atmosphere is cracked and discharged from a discharge hole 6.
