PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric operating device which is equipped with a torsion coil spring that holds a turnable arm provided on a rotary potentiometer at a neutral position and capable of returning the turnable arm to its original neutral position without fail. SOLUTION: In the electric operating device, the rotary potentiometer 11 is provided with a rotary shaft 13 that turns with the swing operation of a control lever 2, a tunable arm 14 integrally provided on the rotary shaft 13 in one piece, a torsion coil spring 21 which holds the turnable arm 14 at neutral position, a stopper 18 which controls the movement of the arm units 21a and 21b of the torsion coil spring 21 kept at a neutral position, and a bearing 31 which is mounted on a shaft unit 30 provided to the turnable arm 14 in a freely turnable manner and extends the torsion coil spring 21 when the turnable arm 14 is turned.
