PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which permits the improvement of a power saving property. SOLUTION: The data transfer controller for data transfer through a serial bus has a controller to control devices connected to the serial bus, a means to judge whether a host computer is connected to the serial bus or not and a means to stop the function of the controller when it is judged that the host computer is not connected to the serial bus.
