PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder in which a flat platen opposing a recording head can be supported surely not to incline. SOLUTION: In a printer 10 comprising a recording head 18 having a platen gap roller 41, a platen 21 disposed oppositely to the recording head 18 while being urged to the recording head 18 side by a spring and having an upper guide pin 211 and a lower guide pin 212 projecting from the opposite ends, and a receiving groove 47a for guiding the upper guide pin 211 and the lower guide pin 212 and recording an image on a sheet being conveyed on a platen 21, a means for preventing the platen 21 from tilting with couple of forces resulting from a spring force for urging the platen 21 and a pressing force being applied from the platen gap roller 41 to the platen 21 while resisting against the spring force is provided between the upper guide pin 211 and the lower guide pin 212 of the platen 21 and the side face of the receiving groove 47a.
