<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of margin, to prevent the inside of the apparatus from being soiled with toner forced out of an edge, to reduce waste of prints disposed of, and to minimize the calibration time, by synchronizing the edge of a transfer material and the edge of a toner image when conducting a special printing mode, such as frameless printing. <P>SOLUTION: When a special print mode is set, a synchronization shift detecting operation by a detecting means and correction control by a correcting means are preformed, prior to a printing operation. This makes it possible to output a print in a regular mode, without extending time from the start of the printing operation to the output of the print, that is, a first printing time; whereas in another special printing mode, such as frameless printing, a print in which registrations are synchronized with high accuracy can be output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
