PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of smoothly displaying video images at switching of two tuners or at the switching of the frequency of the tuner. SOLUTION: A sequence switching device 26 selects one from among signals from a first tuner system (a first tuner 22A, a first demultiplexer 23A and a first decoder 24A) or the signals from a second tuner system (a second tuner 22B, a second demultiplexer 23B and a second decoder 24B) so as to supply them to a liquid crystal monitor 27, and the non-selected tuner system receives sequence broadcasts and decodes IDR frames. The broadcast receiver can receive the broadcast of a frequency f1 by the first tuner system and monitor the broadcast of a frequency f2, which is the sequence broadcast by the second tuner system. When the reception conditions of the frequency f1 deteriorate due to moving to a different area, the tuner system for monitoring is switched to the tuner system for viewing, and the broadcast of the frequency f2 is received and viewed.
