PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means that detects a mobile station not needing polling and takes the detected mobile station off the polling object so as to improve the frequency of update of information of mobile stations, and automatically assigns the detected mobile station to the polling object when polling of the detected mobile station is again required or automatically assigns a mobile station that has moved from another area to the polling object. SOLUTION: In a digital mobile wireless system comprising at least one base station and a plurality of mobile stations each having a unique number, the base station carries out polling processing for periodically collecting information of a plurality of the mobile stations. The base station transmits a polling signal to mobile stations whose response is expected among a plurality of the mobile stations together with the unique number of each of the mobile stations whose response is expected, the mobile stations receiving the polling signal return mobile station information together with the unique number of their own stations in the case of responding to the polling, and the base station takes the mobile stations returning no response for a prescribed number of times off the object of the polling processing.
