The subject invention concerns compositions and methods useful for the control of plant pathogens. Specifically exemplified are extracts from Yucca plants which are effective in the control of bacterial wilt in plants. In an exemplified embodiment, an extract from Yucca schidigera is used to control bacterial wilt in a plant caused by Ralstonia solanacearum.
