A rectilinear slide valve has a valve member slidable between opposed flat surfaces of a casing 12, 14 to either side of a neutral position, for connecting service ports 20, 21 alternatively with a pressure supply 22 or exhaust. The member has auxiliary ports 23, 24 which register in neutral with the service ports to lock the service hydraulically. Sealing means housed in the valve member and effective in neutral position, comprises two sleeves 28, 29 slidable in each of two bores in the valve member and urged apart by a resilient O-ring 30 which also seals the bore. The side 12 of the casing opposite the service ports has counterbores 20a, 21a of the same size as the service ports. The outer ends of the sleeves are recessed as shown to correspond with the ports and counterbores and present narrow annular surfaces engaging the casing. The rings may be of different section and may be bonded to the sleeves, or supplemented by springs.</p> |
