<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize whether the print result of print data transmitted to a printer that is separated physically from an upper-level device and connected by a network or the Internet is normal or not. <P>SOLUTION: The upper-level device previously stores image data before conversion to a print language to transmit it to the printer, the printer makes a scanner connected to itself read the print result (print sheet), and the read image data is returned to the upper-level device.
