PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search system consisting of a plurality of kinds of search engines and capable of more suitable and efficient searches; an information processor; its control method; and a program. SOLUTION: The search system comprises a plurality of first devices for storing multimedia content, a plurality of second devices for storing attribute information about the multimedia content and having a search function to search for the multimedia content according to the attribute information, and a plurality of third devices for storing information about each of the plurality of second devices and selecting from the plurality of second devices the device that is caused to execute a search based on a search command received from a user terminal, the first, second and third devices being interconnected via a network. The third device receives a search command from the user terminal and, based on the search command, selects from the plurality of second devices the device that is caused to execute a search based on the search command.
