PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of a color domain caused by an alignment direction with pre-tilt in a projector. SOLUTION: In the projector comprising; a light source, a plurality of liquid crystal display panels for modulating light emitted from the light source; and a screen on which the modulated light by the liquid crystal display panels is projected, the alignment direction of one liquid crystal display panel of the plurality of crystal display panel is different from the alignment direction of the other liquid crystal display panel and each alignment direction of the liquid crystal display panel turns into the same direction on the screen.
