PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a image reading and recording apparatus excellent in miniaturization and operability so as to be installed on a desk and used. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a document table for placing an original document, an original reading means having an optical means for reading the document while moving along the document table, a sheet supporting means arranged on the lower part of the original reading means and supporting a sheet for forming an image, and a recording means for forming an image on the sheet supported by the sheet supporting means. A circuit board is provided on a part in which the sheet carrying direction is almost perpendicular to the movement direction of the optical means in the original reading means and which is the lower part of the original reading means and the side part of the sheet supporting means.
