METHOD AND DEVICE FOR VERIFYING THE TEMPERATURE VALUES OF A TEMPERATURE SENSOR OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

The invention relates to a method and a corresponding device for verifying temperature values (TEMP) of a temperature sensor of an internal combustion engine, whereby at least two temperature values (TEMP) are detected at different intervals. No error (ERR) of the detected temperature (TEMP) is recognized when a first condition is met. The first condition is met when at least one of the detected temperature values (TEMP) is higher by a defined amount or a defined factor than a second of the detected temperature values (TEMP). The method further allows to recognize an error (ERR) of the detected temperature values (TEMP) when a second condition is met. The second condition is met when the first condition is not met for all temperature values (TEMP) detected within a defined interval (T_S) and/or for those temperature values detected within at least two operational conditions of the internal combustion engine that are different from each other.
