PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an originator side apparatus to immediately grasp whether a recipient side apparatus has correctly processed the data attached to an electronic mail. SOLUTION: It is determined whether image data or electronic data such as a document written with a word processor or a spread sheet document which are transmitted as an attachment file of an electronic mail, is correctly processed in a communication apparatus (S1516). For the unprocessed data, an external server is requested to process the data. If the processing has not been correctly completed, a response of error is returned to the electronic mail apparatus of an e-mail transmission source (S155).
