PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow pointer information to be added in a desired adding method, without difficulties in an environment where a plural kinds of adding methods of the pointer information mix. SOLUTION: The information processing method for adding to a document image to be iputted the pointer information for retrieving the image data. Priority according to the kind of the pointer information is inputted (step S2001), it is decided whether the inputted pointer information kind can be added to the document image (step S2003); and according to the priority of the pointer kind and the decision result, the pointer information is added to the document image (steps S2008 and S2009).
