<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell from which an output can be efficiently taken out without uselessly discharging fuel gas outside when taking out output voltage from the N fuel battery cells connected in series. <P>SOLUTION: An electric output taken out from this fuel cell wherein the N fuel battery cells are connected in series. A gas supply passage supplied with fuel gas from a fuel gas generator 10 is connected in series from the first fuel battery cell S1 to the last Nth fuel battery cell Sn, and only an inlet for the fuel gas is provided in the Nth fuel battery cell Sn, but a discharge port of the fuel gas is not provided. The output voltage is taken out from (N-1) fuel battery cells connected in series including the first one outside.
