A cooker in which the volume of a notification sound outputted from a notification sound creation section can be automatically changed depending on situations of equipment or surrounding situations, thereby user's recognition of guidance sound and notification sound is easier. The cooker has a heating section, a control section, a notification sound creation section, a sound volume change section, and a situation acquisition section. The heating section heats an object to be heated, the control section controls the supply of electricity to the heating section, the notification sound creation section creates a notification sound based on a signal from the control section, the sound volume change section adjusts the volume of a notification sound signal outputted by the notification sound creation section, the situation acquisition section acquires situations of equipment or surrounding situations, and the sound volume change section changes, depending on the situations acquired by the situation acquisition section, the volume of a notification sound outputted from the notification sound creation section.
