<p>A method of forming a mold which scarcely emits any gas having a harmful effect on human body even upon binder heating; and a core for metal casting. More particularly, there is provided a method of forming a mold which comprises agitating an aggregate mixture composed of granular aggregate, a water soluble binder and water so as to foam the aggregate mixture, charging the foamed aggregate mixture in a space for mold formation and evaporating water to thereby solidify the aggregate mixture, and further provided a core for metal casting. In one embodiment, a crosslinking agent can be added so that curing can be effected before or after taking out of the mold from the space for mold formation. Moreover, there is provided an aggregate mixture for mold formation used in the mold forming method.</p> |
