CONTACT DETECTOR AND OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact detector capable of positively detecting the contact of an object even if the moving speed of opening/closing part of a power tailgate or the like is slow.

SOLUTION: In the contact detector, a feature quantity extracting means 15 sets a feature quantity extracted according to the closing speed of the tailgate 1. Consequently, even if the closing speed of the tailgate 1 is slow, a signal having a certain specific feature quantity peculiar to the contact of the object is extracted from an output signal of a pressure sensitive means 8 to determine the contact.
