PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generated in the waveforms applied to a scan electrode and a sustain electrode when a data pulse and a scan pulse are simultaneously applied. SOLUTION: Address electrodes are divided into a plurality of address electrode groups, and an application time of a pulse to at least one of the plurality of address electrode groups is different from an application time point to other electrode groups during an address period of at least one sub-field. Further, an application time point of a data pulse is different from an application time point of a scan pulse, and the width Wa of a first sustain pulse applied to the scan electrode during the sustain period in at least one sub-field is greater than the width Wb of another sustain pulse applied to the scan electrode.
