<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience in using data of copyrighted material expressed by digital data, while appropriately protecting the copyrighted material. <P>SOLUTION: Digital audio data read from a recording medium 52 are inputted into an interface 13. A D/A converter 21 converts the audio data into analog audio signals and outputs the signals. An A/D converter 23 converts audio data, outputted from the D/A converter 21 into audio data and outputs the data. A controller 10 determines whether a copying limit function to limit copying of audio data is added to the recording nedium 52. When it is determined that the function has not been added, the audio data inputted from the interface 13 are stored; whereas when it is determined that the function has been added, the audio data outputted from the A/D converter 23 are stored to a storage device 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
