<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed controller for the fan motor of an air conditioner in which the speed control range of the fan motor can be extended while reducing power consumption by varying the phase and the frequency of an AC voltage simultaneously by a frequency command. <P>SOLUTION: The speed controller for the fan motor of an air conditioner including the fan motor 100 having a permanent magnet rotor arranged between a stator and an induction rotor comprises a frequency and voltage phase converter 203 for applying a varying voltage to the fan motor 100 by varying the voltage phase and the frequency of an AC power supply by a control signal, a zero voltage detector 201 connected with the AC power supply and detecting zero voltage in the voltage waveform of the AC power supply, and a microcomputer 202 connected electrically with the zero voltage detector 201 and the frequency and voltage phase converter 203, generating a control signal providing a predetermined frequency switching pattern by a frequency command with reference to the moment in time of zero voltage generation, and outputting the control signal to the frequency and voltage phase converter 203. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
