PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproducing method with low noise and little power consumption for digital audio reproducing by judging if the information reproducing for an optical disk is in reproducing digital audio or ripping without measuring a transfer rate. SOLUTION: The method is the information reproducing method for reading the information recorded in the optical disk which is configured that, based on configuration of a command pattern issued by application software, the digital audio reproducing pattern or the ripping pattern is determined, and rotational speed of an information medium is determined with low-speed rotation for the digital audio reproducing pattern and high-speed rotation for the ripping pattern.
