PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sprag for a one-way clutch for allowing easy discrimination of directivity and reducing wasteful raw materials, and to provide the one-way clutch using the sprag to actualize highly efficient incorporating work. SOLUTION: First cam faces (cam faces 3a) are formed at (2m+1) positions (m is an integer of 1 or greater) as the peripheral equipartition of a peripheral face 3x of the sprag 3, and second cam faces (cam faces 3b) are formed at positions on peripherally opposite sides to the cam faces 3a. In this construction, the peripheral face of the sprag is formed in an approximately circular shape and the wasteful raw materials are reduced during rough shaping. Since the plurality of cam faces having the same shape are formed in the peripheral direction, even when the sprag 3 is rotated, the cam faces having the same shape cyclically appear in the same phase to actualize highly efficient incorporating work for the one-way clutch, and even when the sprag is manually incorporated, an error in a incorporating direction is prevented.
