<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an autonomous moving device capable of accurately recognizing the position or shape of an object placed in an environment where the autonomous moving device is moved and the self-position of the autonomous moving device at low cost through a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: This autonomous moving device is used to autonomously move in an environment where an object other than the autonomous moving device is present, and comprises an object and self-position detection system 6 and a moving means 4. The object and self-position detection system 6 comprises a database 21 recording information for the surface shape or position of the object set in the environment, a collation means 20 collating a surface shape of the object acquired by a position measuring means 3 with the surface shape of the object stored in the database 21, transmitting the information of the object stored in the database 21 to a traveling planning means 23 when the both are matched in the collation, and transmitting the information of the object acquired by the position measuring means 3 to the planning means 23 when the both are mismatched in the collation, and the traveling planning means 23 planning a traveling route of the autonomous moving device 1 based on the information of the object transmitted from the collation means 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
