PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, inexpensive and high-optical-performance wide angle lens suitable for a mobile camera or the like. SOLUTION: In the wide angle lens, a 1st lens 1 having negative refractive power and having an aspherical surface S2 on an image surface side, a 2nd lens 2 having positive refractive power, an aperture diaphragm SD demarcating a prescribed aperture, a cemented lens obtained by bonding a 3rd lens 3 and a 4th lens 4 and having negative refractive power as a whole, a 5th lens 5 formed of resin material to have positive refractive power and have aspherical surfaces S9 and S10 on both of an object side and the image surface side are arrayed in order from the object side to the image surface side. Thus, the wide angle lens securing an appropriate viewing angle (2ω) being≥75°, restraining the entire length of the lens from getting longer, and satisfactorily correcting aberration and then satisfying requirements such as low cost, a wide viewing angle, miniaturization and high performance is obtained.
