PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more compact lens unit. SOLUTION: A lens barrel 28 is constituted of a fixed barrel 30, a rear barrel 32, an intermediate barrel 34 and a front barrel 36 or the like. A flexible printed circuit board 50 is assembled in the lens barrel 28. A CCD image sensor 52 is mounted in a 1st area 50a on the flexible printed circuit board 50, and a drive control IC chip 54 and an output terminal 51 or the like are provided in a 2nd area 50b thereon. A connection terminal 41, projecting in an optical axis direction, is provided on a plane part 30a formed on the outer periphery 30b of the fixed barrel 30. The 1st area 50a of the flexible printed circuit board 50 is fixed at rear end 30a of the fixed barrel 30. The flexible printed circuit board 50 is bent along a bending line, and the 2nd area 50b faces to the outer periphery 30b of the fixed barrel 30.
