<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for protecting a transistor for controlling the supply of an at least partially inductive load. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a circuit for protecting a transistor including at least one break-over component inserted between a first conduction terminal and a control terminal, in serial inverse connection with a unidirectional conductor and the circuit includes: a resistor in series with the break-over component; and a controllable current source between a terminal of the unidirectional conductor, opposed to the transistor, and a second conduction terminal of the transistor.
