The rotor has multiple coil windings (2) arranged around a rotational axis (7) in a level normal to the axis. The coil windings are embedded in a rotor body (1) by a die casting from molding material, and enclosed end-sided at commutator segments (4) of a commutation unit (3). The commutator segments are directly fixed in the rotor body and are arranged in another level perpendicular to the rotational axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rotor for a commutator motor.
