<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device in which display quality is improved by preventing occurrence of fluctuation in discharge strength of each display cell. <P>SOLUTION: A sustaining means is provided with a first transitioning means in which the potential of a row electrode is resonance transitioned to a second potential from a first potential, a clamping means which clamps the potential of the row electrode to the second potential and a second transitioning means in which the potential of the row electrode is resonance transitioned to the first potential from the second potential. Sustain pulses are generated by successively executing a first process in which transition is made to the second potential from the first potential, a second process in which a potential is clamped to the second potential and a third process in which transition is made to the first potential from the second potential. In the sustain interval of each subfield, the timing to clamp the sustain pulses belong to a first group, that includes the sustain pulse to be applied first, to the second potential is delayed compared with the timing to clamp the sustain pulses belong to other groups to the second potential. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
