<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food vessel having a lid automatic opening/closing function that can open even a weighty lid. <P>SOLUTION: The food vessel 10 can heat food inside and retain the heat by disposing a heat source at the lower part. The food vessel 10 is provided with a vessel body 20 for holding the food, a lid body 12 attached to the vessel body 20 and switched into a first position to close the upper part of the vessel body 20 and a second position to open the upper part of the vessel body 20, and torsion coil springs 30a, 30b interposed between the vessel body 20 and the lid body 12. The torsion coil springs 30a, 30b are formed of a wire material made of a shape memory alloy, wherein arms 32a, 32b on one side are fixed to the vessel body 20, while arms 36a, 36b on the other side are fixed to the lid body 12.
