<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yttria-stabilized zirconia powder which can be applied to various forming methods, and is suitable for producing spherical sintered compact media, each of which is almost free from internal defects and has a uniform grain size, especially by utilizing a rolling granulation/formation process. <P>SOLUTION: The zirconia powder stabilized by yttria contains sodium and/or potassium in an amount of 10-100 ppm expressed in terms of oxide, shows a zeta potential of ≥+20 mV when it is made into an aqueous slurry and has pH of 9-11 at an isoelectric point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
