<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize an image at high reliability without generating misjudgment even when recognizing an image having originally high correlation with other images as an object to be recognized. <P>SOLUTION: A subspace preparation processing part 3 for a set of reference images prepares subspace of a set of low-dimensional reference images by extracting a common component from the set of reference images in which many images are previously included. A dictionary data preparation processing part 1 projects a photographed image to the subspace of the set of reference images when registering object recognizing dictionary data, finds out vectors on complementary space thereof and prepares and registers the object recognizing dictionary data. An image recognition processing part 2 projects the photographed object image to the subspace of the set of reference images, finds out the vectors on the complementary space thereof and finds out a correlation value with the object recognizing dictionary data registered by the dictionary data preparation processing part 1 to recognize the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
