PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply device for an internal combustion engine, for solving a problem that an excess flow stop valve is closed by mistake in the start of operation of the engine, fuel supply to the internal combustion engine is stopped so that the engine cannot be started. SOLUTION: When a cutoff valve 9 is opened in the start of engine start and it is determined that a flow rate of LPG flowing from a fuel tank 5 to a fuel pipe along with the opening (full-opening) of the cutoff valve 9 is excessive, valve opening adjustment is performed. In the valve opening adjustment, when the cutoff valve 9 is opened, an opening of the valve 9 is made to be a value closer to a closed side than a full-opening side, so that the valve opening adjustment puts restrictions on the outward flow of the LPG. Therefore, the flow of a large amount of the LPG from the fuel tank 5 to the fuel pipe along with the opening of the cutoff valve is prevented, and the problem that the excess flow stop valve is closed by mistake along with the large amount of the fuel flow to stop the supply of the LPG to the internal combustion engine 1 is avoided.
