PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating agent and an ignition agent used for a smoke candle, a smoke bomb, fire works, blasting or the like and sufficiently harmless to environment and man and beast and a smoke candle possessing the heating agent and the ignition agent, keeping smoking property equal to that of a conventional smoke candle containing a lead compound, free from toxicity and prevented from the occurrence of soot or irritating odor. SOLUTION: (1) The heating agent contains no lead oxide and no organic fuel and comprises silicon and a metal oxide. (2) The ignition agent contains no lead oxide and comprised a nitrate of an alkali metal, silicon and a metal oxide. (3) The smoke candle contains paraffin and comprises an ignition means possessing a smoke agent formed into a cylindrical body and the heating agent of (1) loaded in the inside space of the cylindrical body and the ignition agent of (2) for igniting the heating agent.
