PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling rail grinding device which is simple in structure and capable of grinding an upper surface of a traveling rail after laying of the same. SOLUTION: Grinding of the upper surface of the traveling rail 2 is carried out by fixing a base plate 11 to a lower frame of a stacker crane, energizing downward an upper surface of a grindstone 13 inserted into a grindstone support portion 12 by a spring 21 to press a lower surface of the grindstone 13 to an upper surface of the traveling rail 2, and moving the stacker crane at a constant speed along the traveling rail 2. When the grindstone 13 is abraded according to execution of the grinding, an adjusting bolt 23 is rotated until the length of the spring 21 becomes equal to a set value to move a spring holding plate 18 downward, followed by fastening a holding plate fixing bolt 19, to thereby fix the spring holding plate 18. Thus the grinding of the traveling rail can be carried by pressing the grindstone 13 again to the upper surface of the traveling rail 2 with predetermined pressing force.
