PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent material in which silicon ultrafine particles and amorphous carbon emit photoluminescence having luminance intensity higher than that of photoluminescence emitted individually. SOLUTION: The luminescent material comprises amorphous carbon containing silicon ultrafine particles.
