PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe cleaning method further shortening a disinfection, sterilization and cleaning time of a water supply pipe, and performing more efficient disinfection, sterilization and cleaning while economizing wash water without impeding normal medical examination by the cleaning of the water supply pipe. SOLUTION: In this pipe cleaning method used in the medical examination apparatus 20 using water for medical examination and cleaning the water supply pipe 1 for leading water supplied from a water supply source W, out to a medical examination instrument, an air supply means 2 is connected to a water supply pipe 1e, and a cleaning process includes an air force-out process to discharge a residual liquid in the water supply pipe 1e by supplying forced-out air to the water supply pipe 1e by the air supply means 2.
