The invention relates to a mechanical device for safety release comprises a connection element(1) comprising connection means to connect a first end (2a) of a first tensing element (2) and a second end (3a) of a second tensing element (3), and actuating means (4) to cause the movement of said connection element (1) from a deactivated position where said connection means maintain said first and second ends (2a, 3a) of said first and second tensing elements (2, 3) at a certain mutual distance, and where the connection element (1) transmits a tension between the first and second tensing elements (2, 3), to an activated position where the connection means determine a mutual separation of said first and second ends (2a, 3a) of said first and second tensing elements (2, 3) that causes the tension between them to be freed. It is applicable to an auxiliary or parking brake of a vehicle.
