Apparatus for attaching a part e.g. 11 to an automobile interior includes a base portion 20 which carries the part, a resilient clip 40 having parallel arms 42 which can flex so that stop claws 44 snap-engage behind an aperture 96 in a vehicle panel 95 and a cap 60 which inserts between the arms to lock them in an engaged condition as shown in fig. 8. Stop claws 45 are also provided to engage the front of the panel 95. To release the fastening the cap 60 is removed and the ends 43 of the arms 42 are drawn together as shown in fig. 9. In this condition the spacing between the claws 44 allows them to pass through the aperture 96 but the wider spacing of claws 45 prevents accidental movement of the clip 40 through the aperture to the rear of the panel. Base pins 22 engage apertures 47 in the clip arms 42 to secure the clip in the base 20 when the clip is engaged in the aperture. |
