The assembly has an elastic ring (22) with an inner surface having conical profile similar to that of an annular groove (20) arranged in a cylindrical shaft (12) to receive the ring. The ring is received in housing of an inner part of a pinion (10). An axial orientation screw (32) has a body (38) cooperating with an inner wall of the shaft, and exerts a radial force on the wall so that the ring is maintained against the inner part.
