PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed, thermally insulated tank by improving at least one of the cost of the tank, the capacity of a wall resistant against the pressure, and the heat insulation of the wall without impairing others. SOLUTION: The sealed, thermally insulated tank consists of at least one tank wall fixed to a load-bearing structure of a floating structure. The tank walls have, in succession, in the direction of the thickness from the inside to the outside of the tank, a primary sealing barrier, a primary insulating barrier, a secondary sealing barrier and a secondary insulating barrier, at least one of the insulating barriers consists essentially of juxtaposed non-conducting elements, each non-conducting element includes a thermal insulation liner, at least one panel and a plurality of load-bearing partitions, and the plurality of load-bearing partitions rise through the thickness of the thermal insulation liner in order to take up the compression forces.
