The backrest of the seat in particular of a convertible is fitted with a ventilation system guiding air to the neck of the occupant through a duct (4) to openings in the headrest (1). The system is operated with a fan unit (5) sucking air in at the rear of the backrest. The air can be adjusted to the surrounding temperature or to a predetermined level with a control unit (7). The intensity of the sunshine (8) or the individual feeling (9) can be used as a parameter.
