<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device which can satisfactorily determine the existence of key input by a user. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of keys 7 are displayed on a liquid crystal panel 6, and the user is prompted to depress these keys 7 according to the sequence of numbers displayed correspondingly. The features (an average value, a standard deviation, etc. of the depressing time) of the key input by the user are detected based on the depressing time of these keys 7, and a criterion value for determining the classification of the key input by the user from the detected features (usual inputting, long depressing and double clicks, etc.) is set up.
