PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition which is excellent in rigidity, deflection temperature under load, and surface appearance, and is favorable in alkali resistance; and to provide a molded article from the same. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition comprises an inorganic filler, wherein the inorganic filler comprises one inorganic filler having a particle size of 1-100μm and another inorganic filler having that of less than 1μm, and the inorganic filler having the particle size of less than 1μm satisfies at least one of conditions (a) and (b) in respect of an equivalent circular area diameter (D) and at least one of conditions (c) and (d) in respect of a layer thickness (T), and the thermoplastic resin is a polybutylene terephthalate base resin used alone or an alloy with the other polybutylene terephthalate base resin.
