PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anticorrosive coating material composition for a magnesium alloy, which can prevent the magnesium alloy from corrosion and prepare a colorless and transparent coating film that is excellent in adhesion to the magnesium alloy; and to provide an article that has a magnesium alloy surface coated with the coating film made from the same composition. SOLUTION: The anticorrosive coating material composition for the magnesium alloy comprises (a) an oxide particle which is selected from the group consisting of aluminium oxide, zinc oxide, tin (IV) oxide, and silicon dioxide and has an average particle size of 20-50 nm, (b) an acrylic resin, and (c) a silane coupling agent.
